Frequently Asked Questions

TAFF (Turkish Armed Forces Foundation) was established as a result of the unification of the Army, Navy, and Air Force Strengthening Foundations — which were founded in the 1960s and 1970s through donations from the Turkish people to develop the defense systems and products of the Turkish Armed Forces based on modern technology — under the TAFF Law No. 3388 dated June 17, 1987, and it began its activities on September 26, 1987.

Based on the resolution adopted by the Board of Trustees of TAFF (Turkish Armed Forces Foundation) on January 24, 1992, which stipulated that defense industry–related fair services would be conducted under the management and responsibility of the TAFF Headquarters, the IDEF International Defense Industry Fairs have been organized biennially in odd-numbered years since 1993.

As of 2025, TAFF (Turkish Armed Forces Foundation);
  • It has built a deep bond of goodwill with more than 420,000 donors.
  • It is a direct or indirect shareholder of 73 companies, including 6 subsidiaries and 9 affiliates, each of which plays a significant role in key areas of the Turkish defense industry.
  • It takes pride in having successfully managed and overseen 17 IDEF International Defense Industry Fairs between 1993 and 2025, and in leading and coordinating the preparations for the IDEF 2027 Fair.
