About Saamdec The South African Aerospace Maritime and Defence Export Council (SAAMDEC) was established in 2015, jointly by the Department of Trade and Industry (dti) and Aerospace Maritime and Defence Industry Association (AMD), for the express purpose of facilitating exports for the Defence and Related Industries Sector, to create a favourable local environment for exports and to deepen the South African Defence Industry s (SADI) market penetration of the Global Defence market. OUR ROLE As mandated by our members and the dti, our role is to promote and champion the collective interests of the sector by exploring new markets for SADI, growing the value and volume of sector exports and lastly by transforming and diversifying the export base thereby contributing to the transformational imperatives of South Africa Innovation | SAAMDEC members offer quality value-added and innovative defence and security solutions.
