Founded in 1968 to produce agricultural machinery under a license agreement with the international John Deere company, Çumitas has produced 26,250 machines over an 18-year period. The company started to produce industrial and construction machinery in 1986 with its own license and brand name Çukurova . Among the prominent products of Çukurova are backhoe loaders; wheel loaders and excavators. Çukurova, using the experience of defense industry vehicles in the past years, has recently started to make a name for itself in defense industry projects.
