About Saamdec The South African Aerospace Maritime and Defence Export Council (SAAMDEC) was established in 2015, jointly by the Department of Trade and Industry (dti) and Aerospace Maritime and Defence Industry Association (AMD), for the express purpose of facilitating exports for the Defence and Related Industries Sector, to create a favourable local environment for exports and to deepen the South African Defence Industry s (SADI) market penetration of the Global Defence market.
