IDEF’21, the great reunion of the defence industry, continued its successful track record
IDEF’21 (15th International Defence Industry Fair) opened its doors at Tüyap Fair and Convention Center in Büyükçekmece, İstanbul on Tuesday, 17 August with opening remarks by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Turkey, Hulusi Akar, Minister of National Defence, Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, President of Defence Industries, and Sadık Piyade, Acting General Manager of TAFF (Turkish Armed Forces Foundation).The Fair which brough together 1.238 companies was visited by 68.795 sector professionals
IDEF'21 15th International Defence Industry Fair, long-awaited by the Turkish defence industry, opened its doors with the grand opening ceremony held on Tuesday, August 17th. Bringing together big names of the defence industry from Turkey and around the world, IDEF'21 hosted 1.238 companies and company representatives while being visited by 68.795 industry professionals from Turkey and abroad.
IDEF’21 hosted 163 delegations and 614 delegation members from 81 countries and 2 international organizations
IDEF, a leading event among similar fairs around the world in terms of delegations hosted and bilateral meetings held, continued this successful trend in 2021. At the event which hosted 163 delegations and 614 delegation members representing 81 countries and two international organizations, the capabilities of the Turkish defence industry was introduced at a global level. Among the delegations were high level authorities including 1 President, 1 Vice President of Presidents Council, 1 Prime Minister, 1 Deputy Prime Minister, 24 Ministers, 14 Chiefs of General Staff, 2 Deputy Chiefs of General Staff, 25 Force Commanders, 11 Deputy Ministers and 1 Undersecretary.
Major partnerships were signed
At IDEF over 4000 bilateral meetings were scheduled at the Delegation-Participant, Delegation-Delegation, Delegation-Turkish Procurement Authority, Participant-Participant, Participant-Turkish Procurement Authority levels. At the fair which hosted domestic and foreign defence industry professionals and important collaborations between countries, was also home to 94 signing ceremonies.
Defence industry-related knowledge and experience shared with sector professionals through panels and presentations
At IDEF’21, nine panels and presentations were facilitated by prime companies of the defence industry including Aselsan, Roketsan, Havelsan, Aspilsan, Turkish Aerospace Industries Corporation, which were broadcast live on the Youtube channel of IDEF for easy access by sector professionals.
