Counting Down to IDEF'17
IDEF’17, 13th International Defence Industry Fair, which was held under the auspicesof the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey and hosted by the Ministery of National Defence and under the management and responsibility of Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TAFF), was realized by the cooperation of Tüyap Fairs and Exhibitions Organization Inc. between May 9-12, 2017.
IDEF International Defence Industry Fair has been held once in every odd year since 1993. IDEF has played an essential role on the development of friendship and cooperation between participant countries. IDEF, as a high technology defence industry fair, incorporating main defence industry branches and their subordinates, is an essential international marketing arena for defence industry companies. IDEF is the biggest defence industry fair in Eurasian region and one of the top five in the world with an increasing trend in terms of the number of participating countries, delegations and companies.
IDEF’15, hosted 781 company and company representatives from 53 countries, 493 High-Level Foreign Delegates responsible for defence supply for their countries; 18 of whom were Ministers, 19 were Deputy Ministers, 6 were Chiefs of General Staff, 3 were Assistant Chiefs of General Staff, 8 were Force Commanders, 15 were Undersecretaries for Defence Industries and defence procurement officials from 76 countries and 1 International Institutions. In addition, 59.715 domestic and foreign professionals from 110 countries visited the show.
There had been 2.230 prearranged meetings among 23 high level procurement officials from Turkish Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces and General Directorate of Security, participants and foreign delegates.
Within the scope of these informations, it was proven one more time that IDEF Fair was placed within the most successful and conspicuous organizations realized on the international platform in Defence Industry.
IDEF’17 will continue to be an organization which will provide the participants the opportunity to follow up on technological developments in the field as well as to build international collaborations in supply programs.
All hosted by the IDEF’17, Defence Ministers of allied countries, chiefs of general staff, high ranking military and civilian authorities, and decision makers in supply and defence equipment will be able to exchange opinions and experiences, while local and international industry companies will be able to build significant commercial networks through meetings.
